Wealth

Wealth

Wealth is defined as a measure of the value of assets of individuals or firms in a community.  Wealth is different from income since it represents accumulated income over time; investments in buildings, equipment, stocks, bonds and other financial forms; and the capacity for spending in the future.  Wealth represents the stability of a community.  In some cases, wealth represents a form of tax base to provide revenue for governmental programs.
